Efatha Church is a family of believers called by God to worship, experience healing, receive deliverance, and be transformed through the Word of God, while preparing for the Rapture.

We believe in the power of God to transform lives completely.

Efatha Church, also known as the Efatha Apostolic and Prophetic Church, was founded in 1996 by Apostle and Prophet Josephat Elias Mwingira. The name Efatha means “Be opened” (Mark 7:34), reflecting our calling to see lives opened, healed, delivered, and transformed through the Word of God.

The church was officially registered in Tanzania in 1997 and continues to grow, reaching people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ both in Tanzania and internationally.

Healing and Deliverance Through the Power of Jesus

Efatha Church teaches and ministers the Word of God, bringing healing, deliverance and freedom to many people. Since its establishment, it has been used by God to change lives, restore hope and set people free.

The church is led by its founder, Apostle and Prophet Josephat Elias Mwingira, and served by various ministers of God who are committed to the vision and mission of the church.

We are dedicated to raising a people who know God’s power, walk in His purpose, and prepare for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Purpose

To lead people into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ through worship, the Word, prayer, healing and deliverance, and to prepare believers for the Rapture.
